Erollisi Day is live! by Mazahs on February 5th 2010
The Erollisi day live event is here again with a few new quests, as well as all the ones from the previous years.
For this event a few changes have been made to the Questlist. All quests involved with the seasonal live events like Frostfell and Erollisi Day are no longer marked as removed on the questlist. Instead they have a note on them saying they are only active during the event they are part of.
UI: Seasonal live event quests are now only displayed on the 'By Zone' page when the event is active.

GU #54 Updates by Mazahs on December 9th 2009
Game Update 54 is here and it is packed with bug fixes, many of which are related to quests. There are far too many to list here though, so you'll have to read the update notes for a full list. I'll just give you the highlights.

  • Prelude Event: 2 new Live Event questlines starting in West Freeport and South Qeynos.
  • Frostfell: All the quests from the previous years are available again, plus a few new ones.
  • Neriak: The city’s writ givers are now willing to work with adventurers that have visited the Timeless Chronomages.
  • You should be able to click on the poster in Bathezid's Watch that will grant the quest, "Overlord Overload".
  • The figurines offered for completing the Chronomancer missions should now be available any time after you finish that mission.
  • Sergeant-at-Arms Ironcast will now offer writs to players who are mentored.
  • A series of mission based tradeskill quests have been added to the Bathezid's Watch and Riliss factions in Fens of Nathsar and the Legion of Danak faction in Jarsath Wastes.
  • Collections previously only available on the Kunark Burynai pet have been added to the Desert of Flames zones.
  • A new camp with NPCs offering a few repeatable quests have been added to the Sinking Sands.

    UI: Sorting of completed quests by Mazahs on November 12th 2009
    As most of you have probably noticed, the quests listed on the completed tab of the journal are sorted in some weird way that doesn't make any sense.
    This is not a bug in the Questlist UI, but a bug in the game client, which unfortunately means that I can't do anything about it and we have to wait for the developers to fix it.

    Chronomancer Tasks fixed. by Mazahs on October 1st 2009
    The bugged Chronomancer Task missions have been fixed in todays update. Unfortunately the fix makes them work like all other mission based quests, which means that they will be auto deleted from the journal when the next mission becomes avaialble.

    UI: New version due to bug by Mazahs on September 26th 2009
    Unfortunately the EQ2 developers aren't the only ones who let bugs slip through to live... The new version of the Questlist UI has a bug that causes quests from your alts journal to be updated on the questlist even though the questlist now belongs to a specific character. The bug has been fixed, but unfortunately it means that you will have to download a new UI again.

    Double listed quests by Mazahs on September 24th 2009
    I have added some of the previously invisible double listed quests that are now visible in the quest journal. The ones i have added to the list are the ones that have different levels, because those can be detected by the UI. If you have any more doubles listed in your journal please feel free to submit them. If the doubles are the same level, I can't add them just yet though.

    They finally fixed an old bug - Unfortunately... by Mazahs on September 24th 2009
    The long standing bug that meant that the number of quests displayed in the quest journal did not fit the number displayed on EQ2Players has now been fixed it seems. The bug was that 2 quests with the excact same name in the same category could not be visible at the same time in the journal and would not be counted.
    The fixing of this bug means that there is now some doubles listed in the quest journal, which are not listed on the Questlist. Unfortunately the Questlist UI can not see the difference between the doubles because they are named exactly the same.
    For now the EQ2Players difference setting will have to stay and the doubles wil not be added. I will look into finding a way to do it, but I'm pretty sure I need the change something first.

    UI: New GU #53 Questlist UI available! by Mazahs on September 23rd 2009
    The new version of the Questlist UI that will work with Game Update #53 is now available for download here.

    The default UI has been changed to use a side by side layout for the quest journal, which means there is no longer room for the Questlist window where it used to be. Because of this, most of the Questlist functions have been moved to a tab of their own in the journal.
    In addition to the layout change the UI has also been made a bit more advanced than it was before. It will now attempt to automatically update your questlist whenever you start or complete a quest or collection, which means the old mark button has been removed. To manually mark a quest you simply have to change to that quest in the journal, there is still a button to manually mark collections with though.
    An extra spoiler button has also been added to the UI, the new one will look up the quest on ZAM. Both spoiler buttons now look up the currently selected quest on the tab you are on, instead of just you current active quest, so now you can also look up a quest from the completed or group tab.
    A help button has also been added to the UI, which should explain what everything does.
    Do NOT install the new UI until your server has been updated to GU #53!

    GU #53 Quest Update Notes by Mazahs on September 23rd 2009

  • Chronomagic (self mentoring) is here, 37 new chronomagic missions have been added that work similar to The Shadow Odyssey’s daily doubles (37 quests).
  • The Sisterhood of Erollisi has returned to Antonica with grave concerns! Adventurers interested in helping them should seek out a Disciple of Love in Antonica, Kelethin or Gorowyn. Those with more devious intentions should seek out Disciples of Hate within The Commonlands, Neriak or Gorowyn (6 quests, 8 collections).
  • The Quellithulians are hard at work reactivating the Ulteran Teleportation Spires across Norrath! They may be found in Antonica, Commonlands, the Thundering Steppes, Nektulos Forest, the Enchanted Lands, Zek, the Orcish Wastes, the Feerrott, Everfrost, Lavastorm and Loping Plains (7 quests).
  • Adventure writs for all cities now check a player’s effective level instead of actual level. This means that you can now mentor or chronolock and do lower level writs! (nothing new added, but lots and lots of old stuff now available to everyone)
  • The quest "A Strange Gem" Has been re-introduced into Antonica.
  • Turgen Bremhurst now offers a more interesting way for you to earn the key to the gates of Bridge Keep (1 quest).
  • Collector Rattalis is visiting the Legends of Norrath Museum and is interested in making an offer you cannot refuse! (1 quest)
  • A new tradeskill collection has been added to Maj'Dul (1 collection).
  • Miragul’s Planar Shard (x4 raid zone) is now accessible (1 quest, possibly more).

    UI: GU #53 and the Questlist UI by Mazahs on September 19th 2009
    Due to some rather large changes to the quest journal in Game Update #53, the current Questlist UI will not work until it has been updated. In fact it is very likely that the current UI will make the game crash when you try to log in once GU53 is live on your server. So before you try to log in once the update is live, you will either have to remove the Questlist UI or update it to the new version which should be available when GU53 goes live. (The new version won't work on the current liver servers either unfortunately, so you can't just get it now)
